I hit IPP on Saturday looking for one to make the Monster List. I arrived around 3pm due to some honey do's and the warmth of the bed to meet up with Andrew and Brice. They fished all night in Port Lavaca without much luck. Around 7ish PT (Matt A) showed up. I had not seen him for a while. It was good to fish with him again. A little later Fish and Hill showed up. At this time all the baits I had put out earlier were in better shape than when I threw them out. Around 9:30 Joe B. (pleasure meeting you by the way) hooked up to this nice BU!


That fish will keep you on the pier for another hour or two even when it is cold. While we were there BSing our friendly neighborhood Game Warden showed up. He BUSTED quite a few. Around 10 pm I had a run but missed it. Got excited I guess. Around 2ish PT, Hill and his friend left. I came a long way to call it a night. I finally started to get sleepy around 3 am when my rod has a screaming run. Fish ON! After a brief fight (actually it was kicking my butt) he was on the pier. My biggest BU for the year.


A 43 incher - At least good enough for me!


The next thing I remember I'm in Aransas Pass eating at the new WHATABURGER at 4:30 in the morning. ;) I went by Con Brown Harbor, and then to a pier in Rockport then to Copano Bay Pier which I really wanted to fish but all the baskets were locked in the store. I really did not want to walk all that way with all my gear. I decided to head to Goose Island state park. I fished there for a while and managed to land this BU.


Well it was not a really productive trip but I enjoyed myself. I want to thank GOD for the recourses to do what I enjoy the most.
